The below information was previously provided regarding the possibility of an imminent government shutdown and the impact on E-Verify services. Please reach out to our support team if you have any questions or concerns.

During prior government shutdowns, employers couldn't enroll in E-Verify, initiate queries, access cases or resolve tentative non-confirmations with affected workers. In addition, E-Verify suspended the “three-day rule” and extended the time for resolving TNCs. We anticipate similar actions should another shutdown occur as of December 20, 2024.
- As your E-Verify Employer Agent for web services, we are prepared to queue up new E-Verify cases (with an auto submission workflow) for all eligible employees with a completed Electronic Form I-9 and submit them when E-Verify is online, in the order that they were created.
- Depending on how long the shutdown lasts, this could take a few days to a few weeks to complete.
- For those clients that only utilize our E-Verify ONLY service, they will need to re-submit their E-Verify queries once the E-Verify service has been restored.
Employers will not be penalized for failing to submit cases to E-Verify on time for employees hired during the shutdown.
REMINDERS
- All employers remain subject to Form I-9 completion and timeliness requirements.
- Employers are advised not to take any adverse action against an employee while an E-Verify case remains in limbo.
