What is a Step?
Steps are individual actions that make up and define your process. Steps can either be candidate or internal facing.
For example, if your process required the following actions: offer creation, offer letter, pre-employment forms, Section 1 and 2 of I-9, and E-Verify, those are the steps you would create within your process.
Where are Steps Located?
Steps are located on the Processes & Content page under the Processes tab. Steps are located within the process and can be easily adjusted and moved around to maintain your needs.
E-Signature
- E-Signature is a required step for a candidate to create an electronic signature to sign documents.
- This should be either step one or two of any process that has documents for a candidate to sign.
Screening
- Include this step if you have screening integration.
- CB will need your assistance getting the information needed to set up your screening provider.
- CB will do the back-end screening set up. You will need to add the screening step and configure it properly.
- There could be many processes with different screening steps based on different packages.
- If you don't have a screening integration, but still want a screening step, use the Blank step.
Offer
- This step could be used numerous times within a process flow.
- Internal Step: offer creation (where HR or Hiring Manager) is creating the offer letter.
- Candidate Step: presentation of the offer letter to the candidate for them to accept or decline.
Blank
- This step can be used for either candidate or internal facing steps.
- This step is used for the catch all activities that don't fall under the other steps.
- This step can be used numerous times within one process.
W4 Wizard
- This is a candidate-facing step.
- This will add Tax Withholding dynamic functionality to your process.
- If you don't want to add this functionality, we do have a Fed/W4 Form in our standard library that could be used within another step.
I9 Section 1
- This is a candidate-facing step.
- This step presents Section 1 of I-9 to the candidate.
I9 Section 2
- This is an internal-facing step.
- This step presents Section 2 of I-9 (and EVP if applicable) to internal resources to complete.
- If you add Section 1, make sure to add this internal step.
- We recommend that this is the last step of your process.
