Overview
Click Boarding provides an optional add-on that allows you to send text notifications to employees. These notifications can be added to the desired steps in your workflows. There are four basic components:
- Message packages: the individual text message(s) sent to the employee.
- Response settings: how the number behaves if an employee responds to it via call or text.
- Quiet period: an optional setting for if text messages should not be sent outside of business hours.
- Telephone number: the number from which the texts are sent.
Click Boarding will configure these settings to enable text messaging in your site. We have a package of standard settings to help make the configuration simple.
What we Need From You
- Please review the standard text message packages and response settings below. If you would like anything changed within these standard packages, it will require customization and you will need to work with Click Boarding to have those scoped and configured.
- Whether or not you would like the quiet period enabled.
Message Packages
A message package contains the individual text message(s) that will be sent at certain steps in the employee process.

Custom Message Packages
If you would like custom messages you will need to work with Click Boarding to have those scoped and configured. It is important to keep in mind that a single SMS text message has a 160-character limit. When the content for a given text message exceeds 160 characters, packages allow us to create multiple messages. This provides greater control in delivering messages in a specific order, rather than out of order based on how the carrier might process them.
As a best practice we recommend both texting and emailing the initial candidate welcome message. This will give them the option to respond in the manner they would prefer and covers situations where they might miss the text or the number they provided doesn’t support texting.
Response Settings
Response settings are configured to determine how the number will behave if an employee replies to it by text or voice call. By default, Click Boarding will configure the following responses:
- Text: This number is not monitored. For assistance, please contact your HR Rep for support. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Msg+Data rates may apply.
- Voice: The number you have reached doesn't accept voice calls. Please contact your Human Resources Representative for assistance.
Note that normal text/calling charges may apply when employees receive and respond to these text messages.
Quiet Period
When enabled, the system will only send messages between 09:00 and 17:00 based on the employee's time zone. If the Employee does not have a time zone set, the time zone of the Client will be used. If the Employee nor the Client have a time zone set, CST will be used.
Telephone Number
Currently texts will send from a standard phone number. We are currently working to implement short code phone numbers. Once complete, all text messages from Click Boarding will send from a short code phone number.
