Effective 1 January 2023, Form W-4(SP) has been updated with the following changes:
- The form and revision year was updated from 2022to 2023.
- The second filing status in Step 1(c) has been updated from"Casado que presenta una declaración conjunta oViudoque reúne los requisitos"to"Casado que presenta una declaración conjunta oCónyuge sobrevivienteque reúne los requisitos."
- Step 2(a), Step 2(b), and Step 2(c) have been updated, along with the TIP ("CONSEJO") verbiage for this step.
- Language in Step 3 has been updated along with the step title that now reads"Paso 3: Reclamación de Dependientey Otros Créditos."
- Language in Step 4(a) has been updated to include"o del trabajo por cuenta propia."
- The instructions on page 2 have been updated.
- The multiple jobs worksheet ("Paso 2(b) — Hoja de Trabajo para Múltiples Empleos") on page 3 has been updated.
- The filing status amounts in Step 4(b) have been updated.
- The dollar amounts have been updated in the tables for the three filing statuses on page 4.
- Minor changes to capitalization throughout the form.

A new tax parameter,"CA.totalAllowances", was added that maps to Line 1c of the Form DE 4.
This new parameter returns the sum of Line 1a (CA.regularAllowances) and Line 1b (CA.additionalAllowances).
Please note the State of California did not publish a new form; this change is only to return the sum of two existing parameters.

Effective 1 January 2023, Form MW 507 has been updated with the following changes:
- The minimum and maximum standard deduction amounts on Line 1c in the Personal Exemptions Worksheet on page 2 have been updated. The minimum standard deduction increased from $1,600 to$1,700and the maximum standard deduction increased from $2,400 to$2,550.
- Minor changes to formatting.

We’ve updated the order of the response options in question 1 within the federal guided flow so “I want to continue in English” comes before “Quiero continuar en Espanol.”
For API clients, this change is seen in the/spf/flowQuestionSet/FEDERAL/{{questionSetId}}endpoint for QS1 and QS2 within the"questionOptions"array. The"id": "noLockEnglish"answer option comes before the"id": "noLockSpanish"answer option.
